revisionism- #r7 [re]bottled
Number seven was a tribute to the glorious and excessive, drunken debauchery and revelry that was my life.
As retrospect, despite that period stemming from a personal awakening and acknowledgement / understanding of my own values, and despite that period being the greatest, happiest phase of my life, thousands of years of western philosophy and religion have culminated into incredible cultural pressure to aspire to 'more'. It has come time to let reason rise above the coveting of the flesh and to strive for something higher (and no, not talking about religion or any of that kind thing, I'm thinking more along the lines of a condo and a job).
Party's over, it's time to go home.
The revisionist installments are a series of re-reaction paintings to the events that occurred, or were occurring at, the time of their corresponding numerations. Painted for the five by seven show to fill in previously sold works, they are by not meant as repaintings of the original works, but rather, as expansions on the concepts of their pre-numbered associate.
