#47 IF Pessimism = Optimism
For a some time now I've been participating in this thing called 'illustration friday' (or IF as they call it for short). Every friday they send out a topic and people either make new illustrations or post old works that relate to the subject. There's a full range of work that's posted; from professionals, to students, to hobbyists.
Anyway, this week's topic was "opposites". As I was trying too think of any works I might have for this theme, a song by Joanne Peck came on my ipod (It's on shuffle) with the lines "Pessimism is the most effective form of optimism". I decided why not do a piece specifically for Illustration Friday this time, rather than just rehashing (besides I was kind of drawing a blank on what to paint this week).
Here we have the clouds of depression watering the the flowers of hope. Kind of like how every cloud has a silver lining, or every rose has a thorn, like every night has it's dawn, like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song.
So, anyway, I just wanted to thank Poison,oh, and guns and roses.
