07/02/06 - #43 Sushi Yum Yum
I went to the family sushi restaurant this week. It's not the family's restaurant but, rather, the one that the family just goes to 'cause it's really close to the house.
It's been a long time since I'd been out for sushi. I've had that pre-packed grocery store stuff but it's nowhere near the same. The restaurant had just renovated and expanded their menu as well. I made a pig of myself; ate far to much; and had to go home in pain.
Anyway the point of the story is that sushi is just damn good
In a seemingly unrelated story now; I was out on saturday night and found myself talking to a guy (friend of the girlfriend) who asked "I hear you're an artist, what kind of art do you do?" Not wanting to get into my passion for experimental interpretive dance with a stranger I answered "painting, mostly commercial" to which he said "you mean like really beautiful strawberries and stuff? my parents have a family friend that does that."
It was loud where we were, and I didn't care so I nodded and went back to sipping my
fruity martini.
There you have it: the motivation behind this weeks painting of a beautifully rendered sushi yum yum. (oh, and I've been watching way to many south park re-runs and so say things like 'yum yums' and 'sweet' and 'hella' and 'I'll kick you in the nuts')
